Class A CDL
Any combination vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) over 26,001 lbs towing any unit with a GVWR over 10,001 lbs
You will need to pass the general knowledge, combination, and air brake tests
Class B CDL
Any vehicle with a GVWR over 26,001 lbs.
You have to pass the general knowledge and air brake tests.
School bus must take the school bus and passenger endorsement tests.
You can add tank endorsement if you want. There is not an ELDT for that.
Class C CDL
Any vehicle with a GVWR under 26,001 lbs. You have to pass the general knowledge test and Hazmat test
Hazmat endorsement must be done before written test
Can be done with a van or car.
